Steps for using a revolver
· Step in front when you are asked to do so.
· Wear ear muffle and safety goggles (if you are not wearing glasses) automatically.
· When told to pick up the revolver and put the third and fourth finger of the left hand in and place your thumb on the cylinder.
· Always point the revolver 45 deg. downwards.
· Load 8 rounds and lock cylinder. Hold the revolver with your right hand and use left hand as a support. Take a general aim.
· Lock your arms and point the revolver 45 deg. downwards.
· When told to fire, aim, press the trigger for the first time, aim and press through all the way down. (first pressure and second pressure)
· When finished, return to the position where the arms are locked and the revolver pointing 45 deg. downwards.
· When asked to show clear, unlock the cylinder and put the third and fourth finger of the left hand in again.
· Hold the revolver upright with the muzzle pointing upwards. Press the ejector rod a few times to clear the cartridges.
· Point the revolver up with the muzzle facing your back. Move your thumb away from the cylinder.
· When ask to report clear, shout “Firer (no.) clear.” Take off your earmuffs and safety goggles before leaving.



Safety Precaution
· Always have the earmuffs and safety goggles on when firing/ shooting.
· Always lock your arms.
· When holding revolver, do not fidget, look straight.
· Always point the revolver 45 deg. downwards when not shooting/ firing.
· Respect the revolver.
· Treat all weapons as if it is loaded.
· Never point at anything or anyone unless you’re about to shoot the target.
· Finger off the trigger guard unless you’re about to shoot the target.
· When there is a problem, always raise non-firing hand.
· Never pick up the weapon when the cylinder is closed.

Malfunction Drills
· When there is a malfunction, try again to confirm.
· Place trigger out of trigger guard, point revolver 45deg downwards, and raise non-firing hand. Do not turn around.
· Tell the officers the problem when they approach.
